Introduction:
Golfing has become a very popular hobby in recent years, more and more Gujarati youngsters and the middle-aged people have taken up some form of golfing activity.
Kera Kundanpur Youth Wing (KKYW) are always looking at initiating new activities to encourage the Kera Kundanpur community members to unite together and participate in some form of sport & social activities we run.
KKYW latest ambition is to initiate the first Golfing Society with the aim to arrange an annual Golf Society Tournament within our 24 Kanbi gaams. KKYW is well known as the leader when it comes to organising and introducing new activities and this will be one more item to add to our list of achievements over the past 16 years that we have been running.
Golfing Society
A golfing society consists of a group of golfing enthusiasts joining together to improve their golfing handicap, and have fun at the same time.
The KKYW Golfing Society we will be providing the following:
- Dedicated Web pages on the Kera Kundanpur Community (UK) website http://www.kerakundanpur.co.uk/ which will allow the participants to view and monitor individuals and the groups performances.
- We will monitor and maintain each member scorecards which will eventually become the source we use to work out their handicap.
- We will plan and book the events; the members will get notified via Email at least 1 week in advance.
- The opportunity to play golf with other members of the society with similar skill levels, and at times with those with lower handicaps.
- We will give guidance to the players on Golfing rules and regulations and golfing etiquette.
- We will endeavour to hold at least 1 event a week during the summer period and at least 1 per fortnight in the winter periods.
- An opportunity for you to show your skills at the induction round. (Performance will form the basis for your initial handicap).
- For complete novices it may not be appropriate to participate in the society but we will provide the guidance and advise to help you get started, so do notfeel like you will notbe welcome if you have notbeen played golf before.
- We hope to get sponsorships for tournament trophies.
- General Tournaments will be based on the 4 ball single play stableford. However we also wish to introduce Match play, Texas Scramble.
- Please note strict golfing rules and etiquettes will be applied to all tournament matches i.e. putting out, drop shots, lost ball rule, taking a provisional ball.
