Kera-Kundanpur is in the history books mainly due to Lakha Phulani who was a powerful ruler of middle Kutch. His capital was Kapil Kot which is presently known in Kera. He was contemporary king to Solanki king Mulraj (942A.D to 997 A.D) Lakha Phulani built a fort around the capital and a Shiva Temple in the 10th century.River Nagmati passes through Kera from Trivani and joins in Gudjod-Beraja and ends in Mundra.
